Welcome from the Superintendent of Schools

Welcome to the Ada-Borup Public Schools, home of the Ada-Borup Cougars It is my hope that you are able to find helpful information here – if you do not find what you are looking for or need more information, feel free to contact a staff member in any of our offices.

I have a tremendous appreciation for the quality of education provided by this district and staff.  The menu and quality of opportunities and services offered to students, reputation of the school district, exciting initiatives already taking place, promising future of the district, and the Ada-Borup communities in general are all positive attributes of the Ada-Borup Public Schools.  I am thrilled, grateful, and humbled to be the Superintendent of Schools of such a fine school district!

Education as many of us know it is changing.  Students may not learn how we learned.  Today’s generation of learners need to participate in activities that challenge and engage them, that help them develop important life skills, and that prepare them for the next step in their development – whatever that may be.  A new focus on career and college readiness from our state officials is an exciting opportunity for us.

Ada-Borup Public Schools mission is to educate and prepare all students for a successful tomorrow through academics, activities, arts and attitude."  Continuing strides towards our mission and the district’s vision "to become the finest school district in NW MN and maintain a high level of expectations for student achievement” will require a continued focus on collaboration, communication, and commitment.  It will take the entire community for our students and the district to be successful.  Our mission, vision, and strategic plan will continue to serve as an important part of what we do and how we do it…our roadmap, if you will.

If you have questions or want to share your ideas, please do not hesitate to contact me at (218) 784-5312 or ShawnY@ada.k12.mn.us   Thank you for your interest in our school district and GO COUGARS!!
